Marlene H. Jones, 81, of Beaver Creek Rd., Waterville, NY, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica, with her loving family by her side.
She was born January 10, 1038 in Utica, a daughter of Stanley and Casimera Partyka Nazel and was a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School. On September 20, 1958, Marlene married Stanley C. Jones at St. Catherine’s Church in Vernon. Together, they owned and operated their dairy farm, Harmony Mountain Farm in Waterville. Stanley predeceased her on August 2, 1987.
Marlene was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church in Waterville. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Deansboro Doers, and the Pleasant Valley Grange. She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts.
Surviving are her sons, Wayne Jones and Cathleen Elwood of Norwich; Gregory and Jody Jones of DeRuyter; Keith and Wendy Jones of Waterville; sister-in-law, Wendy Nazel of Blossvale; grandchildren, Joshua Jones and Abbey of Clinton, Jessica Jones and Norm of Sauquoit; Austin Jones and Nina of Munnsville; Katrina Jones of Whitesboro; Carly Miller and Zach of Cortland; Casey Jones of Rochester; Lukas Miller of Cortland; Jonathan Keehfus of Waterville; Ryan Jones and Ashlee of Eaton; Randy Jones of Hubbardsville; Jacob Jones of Waterville; great-grandchildren, Austin, Jr., Adrian, Colton, Nash, Morgan and Aiden; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Kevin M. Jones; a sister, Charlotte Geer; and two brothers, James and Stanley Nazel, Jr.
Funeral services and interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery will be private.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 pm Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Clifford Fulmer American Legion Post #92, Sangerfield.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Waterville Fire Department, 222 E. Main St., Waterville, NY 13480.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville.
