ZEPHYRHILLS, FL: Mildred Upham Palmer, 93, formerly of Earlville, NY, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Westbrooke Manor in Zephyrhills.

She was born January 3, 1926 in Lebanon, NY, a daughter of Charles Morrell and Ethel Fisk Upham. She graduated from Earlville Central School in 1943 and Oneonta (NY) State University in 1947. Mildred taught Kindergarten in the Morrisville-Eaton Central School until 1955. She resumed her teaching career in the second grade at the Sherburne-Earlville Central School until retiring in 1981. In 1946, Mildred married Milton W. Palmer who predeceased her in 1999. She had lived in Earlville until moving to New Haven, NY in 2007.
Mildred was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Earlville; a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma; a member of local, county, state and national educational organizations; and a former active member of the Quincy Square Museum in Earlville. Since 1981, she wintered in Hillside Park, Zephyrhills, where she was active in many park activities.
Surviving are two daughters, Constance J. (Dennis) Dunham of New Haven, NY and Zephyrhills, FL; Joanne M. Anderson of Medfield, MA; six grandchildren: Patrick (Elizabeth) Dunham; DeEtte (Chris) Mann; Ethan (Alise) Dunham, Matthew (Amber) Anderson, Kevin (Heather) Anderson, and Stephen (Erin) Anderson; eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, Raymond and Floyd “Bill” Upham; and a sister, Doris U. Blair.
Graveside services will be held at the Earlville Cemetery in the spring.
