LaVerne C. “Buster” Enders, 90, formerly of Smyrna and Earlville, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the UHS/Chenango Memorial Residential Healthcare Facility in Norwich.

He was born November 26, 1928 in Delphi Falls, NY, a son of Lewis C. and Julia A. Nourse Enders and was a graduate Fabius schools. On October 7, 1973, LaVerne married Eleanor Barber in the Otselic Methodist Church. Together, they operated a hobby farm for many years. LaVerne was a musician and played a Martin guitar in the Wayne Schram Band known as the Ozark Mountain Boys Band, until retiring in 1975. He was inducted into the New York State Country Music Hall of Fame in Cortland where his guitar and cast handprints are displayed.
He was a life long member of the New Woodstock Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor; a son, Kevin L. Enders of Arizona; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held in the West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne at a later date.
